The inaugural Sime Darby LPGA tournament took place in Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) in Malaysia from 22rd – 24th October 2010. The sponsorship of the tournament not only serves as a part of its commitment in promoting the development of golf in Malaysia, Sime Darby Berhad is also showing its continuous support towards cancer research efforts in Malaysia by pledging the proceeds to support the good cause.

Last year, LPGA tournament attracted top 50 players from the Official Money List and has one of the highest prize purses in the region at US$1.8million. The tournament was shown live in Malaysia and across 30 countries globally.

Happening in October each year, LPGA tournament coincides with the worldwide Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for this, Sime Darby has generously pledge the fund raise through the tournament to CARIF in the fight against breast cancer for a period of 3 years.
