Join Us in Estee Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, 14-16 Oct 2011

The Estee Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign was established in 1992 with the main objective of promoting the message that early detection of breast cancer saves live. The campaign begin when Mrs Evelyn H. Lauder, Senior Corporate Vice President of The Estee Lauder Companies, together with Alexandra Penney, then Editor-in-Chief of Self Magazine, co-created the Pink Ribbon, which today has become the worldwide symbol for breast health. In the past 13 years, Estee Lauder Companies Malaysia has been actively organizing awareness activities and had donated RM1.6million to this cause. Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation, CARIF being the first-of-its kind cancer research organization in Malaysia is one of the beneficiaries of the campaign, others being the Breast Cancer Welfare Association, the College of Radiology Malaysia and the National Cancer Society Malaysia.

In Malaysia, 2011 marks the Estee Lauder Companies malaysia's 15th year supporting this cause through educational activities and fund raisers aimed at elevating awareness and raising funds for breast cancer-related organisations, including CARIF. This year, major landmarks such as Bintang Walk, KL Tower and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building in Kuala Lumpur will be lit up in pink. There is also a breast cancer educational roadshow at the Pavillion Shopping Centre from 14th - 16th October where various activities related to breast cancer awareness will be held.
